Darth Vader to Appear in "Star Wars Rebels" Season One Finale

By Dave Bouressa

Lucasfilm has announced that their season finale of their hit television series Star Wars Rebels will feature none other than The Dark Lord, himself, Darth Vader.

Having kicked off the series with a cameo of the Sith Lord, being voiced by James Earl Jones, sending the Jedi-hunting Inquisitor off to his mission, it is highly likely that Jones will again be appearing for the role. This series has gone out of its way to have as many film actors return to reprise their roles as possible, such as Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, Frank Oz as Yoda, Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, and many more!  Check out Jones kicking off the series premiere and know that right from the beginning that Star Wars is back!

The finale puts us with the Jedi, Kanun, captured on the lava planet of Mustafar by Grand Moff Tarkin and the Empire. It is up to the crew of "The Ghost" to save him before time runs out! Check out the preview for the finale below!

The season finale of Star Wars Rebels, entitled "Fire Across the Galaxy" will premiere March 2nd, 2015, only on Disney XD and will not be streaming early on the Watch Disney XD app much like previous episodes have been.

Spiderman is Now OFFICIALLY Part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

By Dave Bouressa

After several years of rumors going around the Sony and Marvel finally put their differences aside to put Spiderman in the Avengers has finally come true...sort of.

In an official statement from Marvel, a deal has finally been reached which would allow for a new Spiderman (not Tobey Maquire or Andrew Garfield) to start a new presence in the films that would be within the Marvel Cinematic Universe-meaning Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy. A film date has already been set for the film, and considering Marvel is working years and years in advance to make sure all of its films mesh together, we could be seeing a lot of Spiderman in the future.

Here are some of the statement highlights:

Under the deal, the new Spider-Man will first appear in a Marvel film from Marvel's Cinematic Universe (MCU). Sony Pictures will thereafter release the next installment of its $4 billion Spider-Man franchise, on July 28, 2017, in a film that will be co-produced by Kevin Feige and his expert team at Marvel and Amy Pascal, who oversaw the franchise launch for the studio 13 years ago. Together, they will collaborate on a new creative direction for the web slinger. Sony Pictures will continue to finance, distribute, own and have final creative control of the Spider-Man films.

"We always want to collaborate with the best and most successful filmmakers to grow our franchises and develop our characters. Marvel, Kevin Feige and Amy, who helped orchestrate this deal, are the perfect team to help produce the next chapter of Spider-Man," said Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. "This is the right decision for the franchise, for our business, for Marvel, and for the fans."

"I am thrilled to team with my friends at Sony Pictures along with Amy Pascal to produce the next Spider-Man movie," said Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. "Amy has been deeply involved in the realization on film of one of the world’s most beloved characters. Marvel's involvement will hopefully deliver the creative continuity and authenticity that fans demand from the MCU. I am equally excited for the opportunity to have Spider-Man appear in the MCU, something which both we at Marvel, and fans alike, have been looking forward to for years."

Although no specifics have been announced regarding future crossover films (ala Marvel's The Avengers), multiple rumors have stated that the new Spiderman would make at least a cameo in the third Captain America film, Captain America: Civil War. Whether or not our "friendly neighborhood Spiderman" would be portrayed as Peter Parker, Miles Morales, or another established character has still yet to be announced.

Be sure to check out the new Spiderman on July 28, 2017.
