Stan Lee Thinks Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury Should be More "Samuel L. Jacksony"

By Dave Bouressa

At the C2E2 convention a few weeks back, Stan Lee, the famous co-writer for basically all of the Marvel Universe (along side Jack Kirby), had some things to say about the latest cinematic representation of his comic book universe.

First, he revealed what the letters of S.H.I.E.L.D. actually meant to stand for: "Supreme Headquarters, International Espionage, Law-Enforcement Division", as opposed to the well known "Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division". Lee goes on to state that he has no idea why it was changed.

Secondly, he mentioned Samuel L. Jackson's portrayal of Nick Fury, Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.

"Sam Jackson can do the best angry, tough guy you could imagine, and everytime I see him in the movie he's so quiet and soft-spoken, and I'm waiting for him to get excited and yell at people and he never does, so I don't know why they don't make him more like I picture him being".

In other words, Nick Fury needs to call more people "mother fuckers. I am ok with this.

Unsure of what good old Stan is talking about? Check out this iconic scene from "Pulp Fiction" and just picture Nick Fury in his younger days.

SAY "HAIL HYDRA" AGAIN! SAY "HAIL HYDRA" AGAIN! I DARE YOU! I DOUBLE DARE YOU, MOTHER FUCKER, SAY "HAIL HYDRA" ONE MORE GOD DAMNED TIME!

Poetry. Simply poetry.
