Watch: Frank Oz Returns as Yoda for 'Star Wars Rebels' Television Series

By Dave Bouressa

Dave Filoni and the rest of the crew working on Lucasfilm and Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels have made it clear that they want to make this new series feel as "classic trilogy" as humanly possible. With the series taking place five years before A New Hope, everything from sets to character designs feels fresh out of a toybox from 1977.

Aside from sets and characters, the team at Lucasfilm have wanted to the series to feel as "movie accurate" as possible, making it feel like it is straight out of the films. They kicked off the entire series with the first line being spoken by Darth Vader, actually voiced by James Earl Jones, giving the series the kick it needed right from the first few seconds.

For the upcoming episode of Star Wars Rebels, coming back from it's winter break in early January, with the exception of actually having Ian McDiarmid returning to play the Emperor (fingers crossed), they have taken the next best step-having the one and only Frank Oz return to play Jedi Master Yoda, for the first time since Revenge of the Sith in 2005.

Hearing Oz return as the green Jedi Master gives off the exact feeling that makes this series truly feel like Star Wars. It does take a few times to regrasp Oz's voice in your ear to counteract Tom Kane, who has magnificently taken over the role of Yoda since Oz's retirement in many projects including Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Tom Kane even publicly announced his excitement for the upcoming episode on his facebook page.

Star Wars Rebels returns this January with "Path of the Jedi" only Disney XD.

Disney CEO Bob Iger Reveals "Star Wars The Force Awakens" Trailer Almost Didn't Happen

By Dave Bouressa

By now, many of you have seen the new teaser trailer for Star Wars The Force Awakens more times than you can count-hitting the trailer to over 12 million views on Youtube, but a recent interview with Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed that this trailer almost didn't happen.

In an interview with Variety, Iger had this to say:

"I keep telling J.J. Abrams this is a $4 billion movie. We need to treat this very special. It’s an unbelievable privilege and unbelievable responsibility to take a jewel and treat it in a way that is respectful of its past but brings it into the future."

"Disney nearly didn't release a trailer, Iger admitted. Abrams is known for wanting to keep footage of his films under wraps. But the rabid 'Star Wars' fanbase prompted Disney to come up with the brief introduction of what the new film would look like."

This may have been a poor choice of words, because it puts the Disney company in a bad light and reveals how they see this upcoming film. This is not a $4 billion film. It is a several hundred million dollar film, and they will surely make their $4 billion dollars back in just a few years thanks to the multiple films that have been planned, and the Star Wars name being a merchandise giant (with the next film opening exactly a week before Christmas). This line of thought may opens ones eyes in why originally nobody wanted to take the director role for the upcoming Star Wars film- because the immense overwhelming pressure from both the fans and the Disney company.

To put it into perspective, if a parent pays alot of money for their child to take karate classes, that child better be top of their class, get a blackbelt and do so damn quickly. Most parents would never say that to their child, merely think it. The Disney company is apparently the parent that says it to their child's face.

Whether or not this method of "parenting" pays off and creates the "jewel" that Disney wants is entirely up in the air until we see the film for ourselves next December. Until then, we will have to settle with the 88-second teaser trailer.

Are you excited for the upcoming film? Let us know!

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens comes out on December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnal Gleeson, Max von Sydow,

Stephen Colbert Explains the New "Tri-Saber" and Puts 'Star Wars' Fans to Shame

By Dave Bouressa

In last night's episode of The Colbert Report, Stephen Colbert does what he does best-unleash his nerdy side, particularly about the new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which was released last Friday. In fact, his initial reaction to seeing the Millenium Falcon fly through the Tatooine skies, he begins to spin in his chair like a child and recreate a classic scene from the original Star Wars, and frankly, if you didn't have the same reaction, there is something wrong with you.

However, many fans took to the internet to (for lack of a better word) "discuss" their "disappointment" in the trailer-particularly about the new weapon wielded by the films antagonist-nicknamed the "tri-saber" by the internet. The "tri-saber" is similar to a normal lightsaber, but has two extra blades sticking out from the sides, presumably to act as a crossguard.

However, Colbert would not be be taking that lightly. In typical Colbert Report fashion, he took this topic head on and showed us how such a lightsaber could not only work, but is a genius idea.

Enjoy...

There are not many people who could insult the entire Star Wars fandom and walk away with applause, but this man does so with such grace that it's impossible to be mad at him.

By Dave Bouressa

The time Star Wars fans around the world have been waiting (and many literally spent all night staying up) for has finally arrived. After a week of fake trailers for Episode VII popping up on the internet every other hour, Lucasfilm has finally released the 100% official teaser trailer for Star Wars Episode VII.

If you are one of the lucky ones close to 1 of 30 theaters Lucasfilm has selected, you can see the trailer today on the big screen, but for the rest of us, the trailer is not up on iTunes, readily available to be downloaded and watched 500 times by each person before the end of the day.

Check out the DOWNLOAD LINK RIGHT HERE. Enjoy it all in its glorious Star Wars-y glory. Check out some of the amazing screenshots!!!

Not wanting to spoil anything, but that opening voice sounds particularly "Cumberbatchy"...

It makes you wonder what Mark Hamill via 1983 would have to say to that.

VIDEO: Batman Battles Darth Vader in Epic Lightsaber Showdown

By Dave Bouressa

This will be a day long remembered. In true super power fashion, Bat in the Sun Studios, known for their show "Super Power Beat Down"-which pits two super powered heroes/villains against each other in a battle to the death, usually based on fan suggestions, has just brought their latest battle to a new level by putting the greatest super hero up against the greatest villain.

The latest episode of "Super Power Beat Down" joins the dark side-in more ways than one, pitting the Dark Knight against the Dark Lord of the Sith.

Can Gotham's Dark Knight bring justice to the galaxy, or will he underestimate the power of the dark side? Check out the latest episode and see for yourself.

Regardless of how Darth Vader was able to capture Superman, or how Batman is able to skillfully wield a lightsaber (I'll tell you how-he's the god damned Batman, that's how), this is definitely a battle fans have wanted to see for a very long time, and whether or not you agree with the outcome, this is certainly a fight for the ages. You can see more amazing mash-up battles at the Bat in the Sun Youtube page.

Who do you think should have won? Let us know in the comments!

"Jurassic World" Trailer Brings John Hammond's Dinosaur Park to Life

By Dave Bouressa

Jurassic Park-a classic film that pits scientific discovery over the power of nature, and a film that was truly groundbreaking for industry changing special effects that still hold up over 20 years later. With a decent sequel and a laughably bad third film, Jurassic Park fans thought they had seen the end of a world filled with dinosaurs and humans thinking they could control them. That is, however, until Jurassic Park 4: Jurassic World was announced...

Fans, of course, were skeptical. Having been burned by the third film, how could a fourth film turn it around? Especially with rumors of a human/dinosaur hybrid-surely that would be laughable and just plain silly. However, after announcing that the trailer would premiere Thanksgiving weekend, Universal Studios has decided to release the trailer to Jurassic World several days early, and it appears that they have brought life back to a franchise thought to be extinct.

What makes this trailer truly amazing is that it shows what Jurassic Park was supposed to look like according to the vision of John Hammond, had everything not completely gone to hell prior to the opening of the park. It truly is a dinosaur theme park, and everything Hammond could have wanted, which makes it even more bittersweet that the man who played John Hammond, Richard Attenborough, passed away in August of this year. He would have loved to see his imaginary dinosaur theme park in full force.

Also, Chris Pratt on a motorcycle-with velociraptors. Enough said.

Jurassic World hits theaters June 12, 2015

Hear "The Imperial March" As You've Never Heard it Before: As a Celebration

By Dave Bouressa

In the latest episode of Star Wars Rebels, our group of heroes sabotage a parade on Lothal celebrating "Empire Day", the anniversary of Emperor Palpatine ending the Clone Wars and forming the Galactic Empire. In Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the Empire was welcomed with, as Padme Amidala put it, thunderous applause. The Republic was a broken system and the Clone Wars were only making matters worse. To the average galactic citizen, the Empire was the exact turning point the galaxy needed, making it a galactic holiday where attendance to the celebration is mandatory by law.

In the "Rebel Recap" video that goes in depth of the most recent episode, Executive Producer Dave Filoni informs viewers that he asked show composer Kevin Kiner to take the Imperial March we all know and turn in into a celebratory parade march. The team behind Rebels also speaks about how propaganda and Imperial media play a large role into the series.

Recently posted to StarWars.com, check out the new and improved Imperial March, entitled: "Glory of the Empire".

Lego 'Doctor Who' Regeneration Video Will Break Your Heart All Over Again

By Dave Bouressa

Having just wrapped up the eighth season of Doctor Who, fans have had a full year as Peter Capaldi as the new face of the Doctor. However, ask any "whovian", and they will tell you that the transition from Matt Smith as the 11th Doctor to Peter Capaldi as the 12th  at the end of the previous season was heartbreaking-albeit a bit dragged on with a overly quick payoff.

So when a youtuber named BlobVanDam recreated the final days of the 11th Doctor in Lego form, fans found themselves glued to their screens, watching a silent recreation of the last days of the bow-tie loving Time Lord.

To put into comparison, check out the original scene below.

Why Lego Capaldi whips out a chicken leg is an odd choice to have for replacing him talking about his kidneys, but hey, if a confusing chicken leg is the only downside, I'd call this video a hit.

You can pre-order Season 8 of Doctor Who on Amazon, and Peter Capaldi is not one to miss.

Official Star Wars Episode VII Title Revealed: 'The Force Awakens'

By Dave Bouressa

After finally wrapping up shooting for Star Wars Episode VII, Lucasfilm has officially released the title for the upcoming film in the franchise:

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens

This news comes to us directly from StarWars.com and the Official Star Wars Facebook Page. If you go to the Episode VII tab at the top of StarWars.com, viewers are greeted with this picture. Unless The Force Awakens is another form of media relating to Episode VII, be it a book or TV special or what have you, then we have just been given the title for what is arguably the most anticipated film of all time.

Of course, such a name is no doubt to come with criticism much like previous titles (Attack of the Clones? Really?), but the internet seems to be having its fun with it, complete with "What, did the force hit the snooze button for 30 years?" jokes.

Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens comes out on December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnal Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

Watch Darth Vader's Cameo in 'Star Wars Rebels'

By Dave Bouressa

Following in Disney and Disney XD's footsteps, ABC has recently aired the pilot TV movie for Star Wars Rebels, called "Spark of Rebellion". However, unlike the previous airings on different stations, the ABC airing had a very special feature to it-never before seen footage including the appearance of the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader, voiced by James Earl Jones. Vader is seen sending the main antagonist of the series, The Inquisitor, on his quest to hunt down any remaining Jedi, including force- sensitive children.

The critically-acclaimed epic adventure Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion will air on ABC
on Sunday, October 26 (7:00 p.m. ET/PT). Executive producer Dave Filoni states, “We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast. We’ve added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by thedistinguished actor James Earl Jones.”
-Starwars.com

Check out the special scene below.

This scene changes the entire tone of not only the series premiere, but the series as a whole, as we get a look into The Inquisitor's tasks of hunting down Jedi children and their masters, while transitioning into said Jedi child and future master, as opposed to simply starting us off with characters we have never met before, while also giving us an establishing villain with some real meaning as opposed to ending the movie on a cliff hanger ending with a character with unknown motives. The timing of this scene could not be better as The Inquisitor makes his official episodic premiere on the next episode of Star Wars Rebels this Monday on Disney XD.

Star Wars Rebels airs on 8pm EST on Mondays, only on Disney XD

'Avengers: Age of Ultron' Full Trailer Leaks Online

By Dave Bouressa

After stating that the first ever trailer for Avengers 2: Age of Ultron would premiere alongside next week's episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Marvel fans went full on nerd. However, the trailer has leaked online a week early and revealed our first in-depth look at what we are to expect next May, including the teased "Hulkbuster" Iron Man suit which is, of course, designed to do just that-bust the Hulk, and boy, do we get a nice taste at that fight...

UPDATEMarvel has caught wind of the leak and decided to release the official version. Check it out below!

Check it out while you can, because who knows how long the trailer will remain up. Marvel tends to have a lock-down on things like this and tends to wipe them out fairly early on.

Large Amount of "Star Wars Episode VII" Concept Art Leaked Online

By Dave Bouressa

The mystery surrounding the latest installment in the Star Wars saga seems to be virtually non-existant, with new set pictures "leaked" and teasers from director J.J. Abrams hitting the internet every other week.

Apparently, that time of the week has come again, because another "leak" has recently hit the online community, unleashing a large bundle of supposed concept art for the new film, including a crashed TIE fighter, the rumored "Chrome-trooper", Chewbacca with a robotic arm, and the supposed villain eyeing over Vader's helmet.

Check out the pics below, and click on them to enlarge them for more detail.

*MAJOR SPOILER WARNING*
------------------------------------------------

Whether or not these have been intentionally "leaked" by Abrams and his team, or Lucasfilm itself is still to be determined, but this is no small bundle, so if this has indeed been released by accident, no doubt that Lucasfilm is going to have some heads on the chopping block.

Star Wars Episode VII comes out on December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnal Gleeson, Max von Sydow, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.
