TRAILER: Doctor Who 50th Anniversary "The Day of the Doctor"

By Dave Bouressa

After a very very long wait and months of anticipation, the BBC has officially released the long-awaited trailer for the doctor Who 50th Anniversary.

Check out the official plot synopsis:

"The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th anniversary special. In 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him."  -Telegraph.co.uk

The 50th Anniversary DVD will include two mini-episodes, building up to the special. The mini-episodes will be entitled "The Last Day" (running at about 4 minutes) and "The Night of the Doctor" (running at about 7 minutes), leading all up to "The Day of the Doctor" (running at about 75 minutes).

Along with the television premiere, theatrical screenings will be held in several countries in 3D. Be sure to check out the closest location near you and when they are playing!

"The Day of the Doctor" stars Matt Smith, David Tennant, John Hurt, Jenna Colman, and Billie Piper and premieres November 23rd worldwide at 2:50pm ET.
