TRAILER: Telltale's The Walking Dead: Season Two

By Dave Bouressa

Anyone who has played the original 'Walking Dead' game by Telltale will tell you that it is one of the best, if not the best, zombie games around regarding character development and story. What was great about the game was not only its "choose your own story" formula resulting in different outcomes, but the fact that any one of the main characters could die at any second without a single notice. Yet, throughout it all, one character stuck with the hearts of players: Clementine-a poor little girl who lost her parents and became the unofficial adopted daughter of Lee Everett (the playable character).

Without giving away any spoilers about how she ends up in her scenario, the game ends with Clementine wandering through a field, seeing just few small figures in the far distance. Her reaction goes from relief, to confusion, to fear-and sudden cut to black, leaving the player equally as confused and scared.

Several months ago, Telltale released a stand-alone "chapter" called '400 Days', acting as a bridge between the two seasons, however, Telltale has since put out a trailer for the upcoming "Season" in their 'Walking Dead' saga. Check it out.

Here is the official Plot Synopsis of the game:

The Walking Dead: Season Two continues the story of Clementine, a young girl orphaned by the undead apocalypse. Left to fend for herself, she has been forced to learn how to survive in a world gone mad.

Many months have passed since the events seen in Season One of The Walking Dead, and Clementine is searching for safety. But what can an ordinary child do to stay alive when the living can be just as bad -- and sometimes worse -- than the dead? As Clementine, you will be tested by situations and dilemmas that will test your morals and your instinct for survival. Your decisions and actions will change the story around you, in this sequel to 2012's Game of the Year.

Key Features:

-Decisions you made in Season One and in 400 Days will affect your story in Season Two
-Based on Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic books
-Play as Clementine, an orphaned girl forced to grow up fast by the world around her
-A sequel to 2012's Game of the Year

If you have not played the first game, you are considerably missing out on one of the most heart-breaking and entertaining stories seen in a video game in a long time. And for those of you not particularly into video games, the game is beyond user friendly. The entire game acts more like an interactive cutscene, where 80% of the game acts as an engaging and interactive movie, 10% is simple "point and click", and the remainder is reacting to quicktime events. I have never had so much fun with a game where actually playing the game is minimal. Do yourself a favor and buy the first game, then once you've finished, you will not be able to wait for the second game to come out.

No release date has been announced as of yet, but you can pre-order the game and receive 10% off your digital download.

TRAILER: X-Men Days of Future Past

By Dave Bouressa

What happens when you take X-Men and mix it with just a dash of Terminator? Why, 'X-Men: Days of Future Past', that's what!.The official trailer for Bryan Singer's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' has officially hit the internet. Check it out.

After the success of 'X-Men: First Class', this film is sure to be a hit, especially when you have Wolverine jumping from Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, to James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. It will be nice to get some incredible Marvel films outside of the 'Avengers' territory.

However, the one thing to drive me nuts about this trailer is the music. It is unbearable when movie trailers use an overused and cliche soundtrack from another film-especially if it is a different composer. At 1:25 in the trailer, the music is entitled 'Journey to the Line', composed by Hanz Zimmer from the film 'The Thin Red Line" (Start at 4:20). If you are not going to put in the effort to have some of your own score be included into your own trailer, it certainly does not speak volume (no pun intended) to your own film's composer. It is like having a McDonalds commercial, but they didn't have confidence in the Big Mac, so they snuck a Whopper in there, nobody will notice, right?

'X-Men: Days of Future Past" hits theaters May 23, 2014.

BBC Reveals 'Sherlock' Season 3 Premiere Date

By Dave Bouressa

So here is the premise, Bilbo Baggins and Khan Noonien Singh go around modern day London and solve crimes. Wait, that's not right...

After a two years and six episodes, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman won the hearts of millions as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson in Sherlock. With the series being written by Doctor Who's head writer, Steven Moffat, Moffat essentially has England and many other countries gripping for more. However, after a sort-of-but-not-really cliffhanger ending to the second season, the series went on a hiatus, mainly to the incredibly busy schedules of the two lead actors, hence the opening joke, and Moffat (who has been busy working on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary).

But now, the BBC has offically given word that the upcoming season of Sherlock will premiere on PBS Masterpiece at 10pm on January 19th, followed up by Downton Abbey . Oddly enough, although this is the first date to be announced, it is the US release date. No UK release date has been announced as of yet, but the BBC assures that the UK will in fact be getting it before then.

Sherlock Executive Producer, Sue Vertue, had this to say:

“We are hugely excited about this next series of Sherlock, and have worked closely with our partners, Masterpiece and PBS, to bring these episodes to U.S. audiences in January. We promise our fans that Season 3 is worth waiting for.” -EntertainmentWeekly

The three upcoming episodes and their basic plots have already been revealed, so if you wish to avoid spoilers, do not continue reading this paragraph. The first episode will be titled "The Empty Hearse" which will delve into Shelock's "death". The second episode will be titled "The Sign of Three" which will feature Watson getting married, and the third episode will be titled "The Last Vow".

Masterpiece Executive Producer, Rebecca Eaton states:

“I think there’s such an appetite for Sherlock because every season we do they’re bites; the season isn’t 13 episodes, which we would love, they’re complicated to make and we can’t do more than that. So you never get quite enough even when you get a new season. Even more than with Downton, because Downton is 10 hours and it comes back regularly once a year. So Sherlock creates an unusual appetite.” -EntertainmentWeekly

Season 4 of Sherlock is presumed to be happening in the near future, but at this time, no official word has been made and most likely will not be made until Season 3 has finished up.

Until then, be sure to check out both Freeman and Cumberbatch in the upcoming film, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

TRAILER: Star Wars Rebels

By Dave Bouressa

Today at 8:30pm, Disney unvieled it's teaser trailer for Lucasfilm's latest endeavor into the animated television world: Star Wars Rebels.

Although we do not see much, they do give us enough to show us that this animation design is clearly different than that of it's Clone Wars counterpart. It is curious how Disney will play this series out, assuming they will want to have it tie into not only the original trilogy, but perhaps even the sequel trilogy as well.

There will be more details unvieled about the series at this years New York Comic Con, and it will be presented by Star Wars author Pablo Hidalgo. Until then, be sure to check out what we already know.

"Star Wars Rebels" is scheduled to premiere in fall of 2014 as a one-hour special on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.
