The time has finally come. Since the switch to free-to-play, Star Wars: The Old Republic has been developing their first digital expansion called "Rise of the Hutt Cartel". Well my friends, a release date has been announced. April 14th shall be the day that may or may not redeem the game entirely.
"We're thrilled to announce the launch date of Sunday, April 14, 2013, for the release of the first digital expansion: Rise of the Hutt Cartel. Introducing five new levels of gameplay and the vibrant new planet Makeb..." -SWTOR.com
For those of you who haven't already, you can still pre-order the expansion which comes with a few perks. For those who pre-order before April 14th you will receive: A new title 'Scourge of the Hutts', A new Makrin Seedling mini pet, and The Dr. Oggurobb Hutt Holostatue for only $20, and for those of you who aren't subscribers, when you purchase the digital expansion you are given the option (for only 5 dollars more) to get a one month subscription along with the pre-order. So for $24.99 (plus tax) you get all this and one month of subscription time, which for those of you who don't know, takes away a lot of the restrictions that we free-to-players have.
Along with the new planet Makeb, and the 5 new levels, which have some storyline based content, there will be new Legacy achievements that you can receive. Also at the same time the game update 2.0:Scum and Villainy will be going live as well. Giving us new flashpoints (for level 55) and a new operation called: Scum and Villany. There will also be class combat changes for you to look forward to.
I am very excited for this expansion, I have been playing SW:TOR since it released and I have been looking forward to getting new content since I reached level 50. This game has a possibility of making a comeback if this new expansion lives up to the hype. Stick around for a review of the update around April 14th.
