Pardon the language, but holy shitballs!
Now that we've gotten that out of the way, Nintendo has been teasing for some time about unveiling some news about the future of the Pokemon franchise. Many fans feared that Nintendo would finally be pulling the plug on the franchise, but boy, were they wrong.
Just announced on January 8th, 2012, Nintendo released the announcement trailer for Pokemon X and Pokemon Y.
At this point, not much has been revealed about the game aside from it's release date and that it will be on the 3DS.
The three "starter pokemon" have also been revealed. Chespin the grass pokemon, Fennekin the fire pokemon, and Froakie the water pokemon.
Fans have said for many years that they have wanted a fully 3D Pokemon game that moves more freely and acts more like a console open-world, free-roaming RPG, such as Skyrim or Far Cry 3, and I think this is perhaps their wish coming true-or at least as close as their going to go. Simply based on the trailer, this game looks incredible.
Even as someone who has not played a Pokemon game since Pokemon Ruby, I am incredible excited for this game, and may even consider getting a 3DS just for this game. Curse you Nintendo, I'm falling right into your trap, but I don't care anymore. This shattered fans expectations to what they could except for a Pokemon game. I know many friends who would greatly enjoy playing this game, and as I said before, this may be the game that finally gets me to put aside the money for a 3DS. From what I can simply from the trailer, it looks like it would be worth it.
