-Best Adapted Video Game (Spike TV Video Game Awards)

-Best Character Design: Lee Everett (Inside Gaming Awards)
-Best Multi-Platform Game (Destructoids)
-Best Writing (Digital Trends)
-Best Digitally Distributed Game (Digital Trends)

Many of whom, also named it Game of the Year.

From "The Walking Dead: The Game"'s facebook page:

With over 40 Game of the Year awards and a topping multiple Best of 2012 lists, The Walking Dead: The Game from Telltale Games was a favorite over at XLBA Fans, who said, "It's amazing how one of this year's greatest games isn't one that made you feel happy or powerful, but weak, regretful and above all, sad. It's rare to find a game this powerful. This is an experience nobody should miss, which is why The Walking Dead is our Game of the Year"

Due to the massive success of the game, a second "season" has been confirmed. Details have not come out yet regarding release date or story details, but (spoilers) seeing how the ending left us with a cliffhanger of Clementine seeing two unidentifiable figures out in the distance, with her reaction being hard to read, it is total speculation what could happen.

Star Wars The Clone Wars To Hit 100 Episodes

What started as a poorly received film has become Cartoon Network's prime jewel.

Over the past 5 years, Star Wars: The Clone Wars has become the #1 Animated action show in it's timeslot, in it's intended age group (Boys 8-14) for the past 5 years, and it has taken the entire family along for the ride.

Back in 2007, when the series was nothing more than pure fan speculation, Lucas made one thing very clear: They were going to make at 100 episodes. Whether the series was cancelled before then did not matter-they would put the episodes out on DVD, but 100 episodes was the goal. Now, on January 5th, Lucas will meet his goal by hitting the 100th episode of Star Wars The Clone Wars.

Check out this promo:

The episode will be called "Missing in Action". It is the 11th episode of Season 5, and the third in the "Droids Arc".

This episode will feature a Republic Commando named "Gregor" who has lost his memory and has been serving as a dish-washer.

Here is a clip:

Ever since the series came out, fans have been screaming for certain things to appear on the show. Aside from Wookiees (which now appear somewhat regularly), Republic Commandos were by far one of the most requested items fans wanted to see. Fans were given a taste of Commandos in "Witches of the Mist", when Delta Squad (from the Star Wars: Republic Commando game) made a brief cameo. When Fixer, Scorch, Sev, and Boss appeared on the screen for the first time at Star Wars Celebration V, the crowd went nuts. However, their appearance was only for a brief minute, and since then, Commandos have not been seen. Now we get a completely original Commando, and one with no memory. It should be interesting to see where they go with this.

Since their "minimum" goal has been met, Lucas and his crew have since stated that as long as people keep watching the show, they will keep making it. A sixth season has been confirmed with a seventh (and rumored last) season being been hinted at.

Check out Supervising Director Dave Filoni's reflection on making it to 100 episodes here.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs Saturdays at 9:30am on Cartoon Network

New Star Wars Battlefront 3 Footage-Dathomir

Well, more Battlefront 3 footage was released...

This time, we get to see the Nightsister planet of Dathomir-according to the video description. It does not look like Dathomir from the Clone Wars TV series, but whatever.

This video was released back in November, but it only now seems to be picking up strength online.

It honestly makes me more mad when video of this game is released because we are never going to get it. In case you did not hear the tragic story, this game was about 95% complete, LucasArts laid some people off, some new people were put in control, and the game was scrapped. Yeah, that actually happened, which is unfortunate, because the majority of videos released of this game looked incredible. Star Wars Battlefront 1 was the highest selling Star Wars game of all time, so having them cancel this game when it is almost done makes no sense financially.

And you know the worst part? The very next LucasArts game? Star Wars Kinect...

It was scheduled for Xbox360, PS3 and PC, but unfortunately, Star Wars Battlefront III will never see the light of day...

Disney's "Star Wars Weekends" Dates and Hosts Announced

"Disney Parks Blog" just posted the dates for their annual "Star Wars Weekends" event. This event usually runs 3-4 weekends in the summer, and is a non-stop Star Wars Party.

Actors, Cosplayers, and Families. What more could you ask for in the most magical place on Earth?

Star Wars Weekends 2013 will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from May 17th-June 9th 2012. As of now, plans are still in the works, and no major details have been announced at this time. Except for one..

This year, the two hosts of Star Wars Weekends will be James Arnold Taylor and Ashley Eckstein. Taylor voices Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series, while Eckstein voices Ahsoka Tano in the same series. Throughout the handful of years that Disney has hosted this event, just about each time has been hosted by either Taylor, Eckstein, or both, so to have them both return to host this year is not surprising, but still exciting nonetheless.

Taylor will host the event itself, while Eckstein will host "Behind the Force" which is a live "behind the scenes" look to the Star Wars Universe.

If you've never heard of "Star Wars Weekends", check it out here:

Again, no guest and event information has been posted or announced at this time, but if you want to follow the most up to date information regarding the event, check out the Disney Parks Blog for more information.

Star Trek's J.J. Abrams Turns Down Directing Star Wars VII

In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, he was asked about his early involvement in Star Trek.

"There were the very early conversations and I quickly said that because of my loyalty to Star Trek, and also just being a fan, I wouldn’t even want to be involved in the next version of those things. I declined any involvement very early on. I’d rather be in the audience not knowing what was coming, rather than being involved in the minutiae of making them"

“There’s obviously room for both Star Trek and Star Wars. We both have plenty of things to offer sci-fi… I guess the franchises could go up against each other, but I’m not thinking that far ahead,” added the director.

Perhaps this is for the best. If one person directed Star Trek AND a Star Wars film, nerddom would implode the likes of which has not been seen.

But perhaps I'm wrong? Could Star Trek and Star Wars come from the creative mind of the same person and still have both work? I guess we will never know...

Amazing Spider Man #700-Controversial?

Apparently so. According to several reports, Dan Slott, the author, has even been receiving death threats due to the ending of this comic!!! So what is so controversial about this comic?

From "Big Shiny Robot":"Doctor Octopus is slowly dying after receiving repeated blows to the head over the years, and has one last bit of revenge to act out against Spider-Man. Two issues ago it was revealed that Ock had switched bodies with Pete leaving our hero in the dying body of one of his greatest villains. How did Ock do this? By using an Octabot that implanted Ock’s consciousness in Pete’s body. Pete, in Ock’s body, breaks out of The Raft while forming his own “Sinister Six.” Finding the Octabot, Pete devises a plan to switch bodies.  Pete tries to use the Octabot after confronting Ock, but discovers that Ock has put metal plating in his suit to block the connection. While gloating Ock starts getting flooded with Pete’s memories. And he starts to replace Pete in those memories. He starts to get overwhelmed after realizing how good of a person Pete was and changes his mind. He doesn’t want the memories, however Ock’s change of heart is too late. Pete is too fargone and is dying in Ock’s body. He tells Ock that he is Spider-Man now and passes on after telling him that “With great power, comes great responsibility.” Ock vows that he will protect those that Pete loved and proclaims himself the “Superior Spider-Man".

Yes, you read that correctly. Peter Parker dies and Doctor Octopus is now Spiderman.

Even as a non-comic reader, it is clear that this is certainly a odd way to take the character of Spiderman, but keep in mind that in comics, nobody ever truly dies. Batman has died x amount of times, Superman has died even more times than that. Just because Peter Parker is dead, does not mean he will not come back via scientific experiment or the black magic of some spider god. If you are a comic book fan, and/or a fan of Spiderman, I would suggest checking this one out! Apparently this book runs a bit high in the price range, running at around $7.99, but the near 100 page seems to make up for that.

Previous X-Men Character to Cameo in "The Wolverine"

Hugh Jackman has confirmed that a character from one of the previous X-Men films will make a cameo appearance in "The Wolverine"
When the Australian actor was asked by Parade Magazine to give them a hint of what was to come, he had this to say:

“You want to get me into trouble, don’t you? [laughs] Okay, the movie takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand. My character is at his lowest. He is supposed to be able to heal himself, but he may encounter someone who has worked out a way to really hurt him. And there is a cameo from one of the past X-Men in it.”

At this time, no information has been revealed on who the character is, but I have heard that Sir Ian McKellen was, in fact, signed on for more X-Men movies, so could we possibly be seeing more Magneto in the future? We'll have to wait and see...
The Wolverine hits theaters on July 26, 2013.

Doctor Who is Making Some Changes...

And by "some", I mean just about everything is changing. Whovians are obviously used to changes every few years, with new incarnations of The Doctor, but that doesn't make it any easier. And head-writer Steven Moffat has stated, starting with the 2012 Christmas Special, things are going to be a bit different.

First off, The Doctor's new companion, Clara. After the unfortunate death of the Ponds (spoilers), we move to Clara, played by Jenna Loise-Coleman. However, fans got a peak at the actress at work in the first episode of series 7, "Asylum of the Daleks" as Oswin, to much fan approval, so it will be interesting to see how they not only bring Clara in, but how connections will be made with Clara and Oswin appearing only a few episodes apart from each other.

Next up, The Doctor's outfit. The Doctor will be sporting an "old-timey" vest and overcoat, while sporting a very victorian outfit in the Christmas Special-much like the 8th Doctor's wardrobe. However, The Doctor will still be sporting his classic bow-tie, because as we all know, bow-ties are cool.

However, these changes have been known for quite some time. It was recently revealed that quite a bit more will be changed.

Including....a new TARDIS interior.

Moffat explains the new change.

"I thought we'd been getting progressively whimsical with the interior of the TARDIS," Moffat said at a screening of the episode last night (December 19)."I started to think, 'Well, why is that? It's not a magical place. It's actually a machine'. And actually potentially, as you'll see more spectacularly later, quite a scary place sometimes. We make a lot of use of that."

Fans of the show since the revival in 2005 will see this as a bit of a downgrade, but fans of "old school" Doctor Who will find it much more familiar, seeing as the new TARDIS interior mirrors that of the old console from the 70's and 80's.

As if the wardrobe, TARDIS, and companion changes weren't enough, the Christmas special will
debut a new arrangement of the opening theme of the show, along with a new opening sequence.

The Doctor Who Christmas Special will air on December 25 at 5.15pm on BBC One and 9pm on BBC America.
